Latest survey from Thai Public Health Ministry revealed that the average Thais consumed 20 teaspoons of sugar per day (more than 3 times of recommended maximum amont of 6 teaspoons). The sugar that Thais consume came from the beverages such as FRUIT JUICE (250ml gives 6.25 tsp of sugar), COFFEE on the street (475ml gives 10.5 tsp of sugar), CARBONATED drinks (450ml gives 10.75tsp of sugar), PEARL TEA drinks (350ml gives 11.25tsp of sugar), bottled GREEN TEA (500ml gives 14.5 tsp of sugar), and DRINKING YOGHURT (450ml gives 19 tsp of sugar). So rethink your drink! WATER is no doubt the best option!!!
